This video shows a scan of an unstable sample of ink in a glass vial. The ultrasonic sensors are on both sides of the vial and are scanned vertically as the time-of-flight (TOF) is plotted on the screen at the right. The ultrasound signal is displayed below the real-time measurements during the scan. Viewing the signal assures that the TOF reading is measured at the correct time (yellow cross). Note that the TOF increases and concentration decreases at the top because the ink particles have settled. Repeated scans provide continuous measurement of the stability of the sample. Using the SEDISONIC™, formulators can adjust and improve the long term stability of their ink products.
